Iona Ann Menzies
Iona Ann Menzies, 79, known by family and friends as Betty, died April 29, 2012 in Sun City West, Ariz. Menzies was born on July 9, 1932, in Walworth, Wis. and was a long-time resident of Harvard until she and her husband Erwin moved to Arizona in 1979. She was a graduate of Harvard High School. She worked for a number of years at Brady Jewelers in Harvard and later enjoyed a career as a travel agent which allowed her and Erwin to travel the world. She will be remembered as a classy lady with an elegant sense of style and fashion. She was a warm and gracious woman with a compassionate soul and kind words for those lucky enough to know her. She had been living independently in Sun City West for the past five years since the death of her husband in 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, George C. and Lelah Pries and brother-in-law Jack Perenchio. Survivors included her daughter Nancy Johnson and daughter and son-in-law Jamie and Mike Lane; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Sarah Hanson; Matt Lane; Meghan Lane; Pam (Doug), Dylan, Dalton and Sophie Wood; Rebecca (Eric), Hannah, Haley and Brody Sogard; Nick (Sara) and Cole Johnson; and her loving sister and brother, Arlene Perenchio and George F. (Bud) Pries and wife Eugenia and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. A visitation was held May 5 at Saunders and McFarlin Funeral Home. Interment was in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
